Wood Floor Cleaning
General
- Sweep or vacuum the floor regularly to remove loose dusts and soiling.
- Clean floors with a solution of floor maintainer for polished or lacquered flooring and warm water. Ensure the application of water is kept minimal and change frequently to avoid soil spreading.
- Remove all drink or food spillages immediately to avoid marking the seal.
Periodic
Lacquered or polished hardwood floors require minimal maintenance. One of the main issues is an accumulation of fine soiling combined with traces of waxes and oils that are commonly found in general wood floor cleaners.
If the surface begins to appear dull and loses lustre, a more intensive clean can be undertaken with the use of a microfiber flat mop, a stronger cleaning solution and warm to hot water.
Again ensure the water/solution is kept refreshed and minimal, then repeat the process a couple of times working in small sections.
When the floor is dry, buff with a soft cloth or clean soft microfiber floor pad.
Wood Floor Polishing
All polished hardwood floors at some point will require a fresh application. Wear and tear can erode the surface protection and eventually break down the seal allowing soiling to penetrate the timber.
Our floor polishing service will revive the vibrant appearance and protection of your floor with the minimum of disruption.
Unlike restoration by sanding our deep cleaning method employs a weight adjustable rotary machine and the application and extraction of controlled volumes of our formula. We deep clean the surface removing accumulation of old waxes, polish and soiling.
The process provides a key to the original seal allowing good adherence for the application of a water based seal such as Bona Mega which is available in a satin or matt finish.
Emulsion floor polish can be chemically stripped off and a fresh dressing reapplied.
